TAXES Mervin Evans is a fiscal conservative who has consistently supported legislative efforts to reduce both the personal income and corporate tax rate. Mervin Evans is a long-time supporter of Proposition 13 and the tax protection it provides homeowners.

EDUCATION Mervin Evans is a long-time advocate of stronger standards, increased parental involvement in schools, and greater local control. Mervin Evans supports legislation to reduce

class sizes. Evans will support new laws to keep teachers convicted of sex and drug crimes from ever returning to the classroom.

ABORTION Mervin Evans is Pro-Choice. .

THE ENVIRONMENT Mervin Evans is the Proponent of the Bear and Wilderness Protection Act.

We must Protect the California Bears. A 100 Year Water Use and Land Use Management Plan is a must.

IMMIGRATION Evans is calling upon the federal government to reimburse the state for its expenditures on illegal immigration. Evans wants to deport all Non-Ag White Illegals who are stealing good paying jobs from our community.

THE ECONOMY Mervin Evans is a consistent advocate of efforts to reduce taxes and regulations on California's job creators.

SECOND AMENDMENT Mervin Evans is a strong defender of the Second Amendment. He believes law abiding citizens have a right to own firearms. He has also consistently advocated tougher penalties for those who use firearms in the commission of a crime.

WELFARE REFORM Long before it became popular, Mervin Evans was pushing legislation that

limited the length of stays on welfare, increased educational training, cracked down on welfare fraud,

and supported efforts to reduce benefits to welfare recipients who fail to keep their children in school.
